CORNER HOUSES | ![]() |
||||||||
The collection of <90˚ houses is a representation of collisions of urban structures. These structures force the corner house to produce rare urban details. In this sense they make a specific typology in the city. Collecting and categorising these houses, the main question seems to be what street to belong to. Some choose to have a formal facade on the most formal street, which manifests itself in a roof front, rhythm of windows and entrance on this side. The other facade shows a blind wall with some necessary small informal windows. Others don’t choose sides and try to stand in both streets which leads to a sort of identity crisis. Some of them twist themselves and have a ground floor that orientates on one street, while the stories above turn their facade to the other. |
